Howdy

Does anyone have a transcribed copy of Phil Woods' solo on Billy Joel's Just the Way You Are? If so, I would be very appreciative if someone can email it to me. tsuarez7@bellsouth.net
Thanks for any help!

That was actually played on the alto, sorry I don't have the transcription because I played it by ear.

I don't see why anyone should share their "homework" with you. If you want it you should transcribe it yourself.

Because some people are helpful?

If you want an answer to this question, you'll find more thoughtful and helpful people in the Alto section. Tenor players tend to be alot grumpier!

I happened to be an alto player.

One of the Raphael Ravenscroft books has the JtWYA solo for Bb horns, and Ravenscroft's "Baker Street" solo as a bonus.

It's the alto transcription, but just change to Bb. Has the mp3 of the solo as well.

Colibri, I find that when you help out others, they are more likely to help you when you need it.

That's interesting....when I saw the crack about doing your own homework I though I was still on the clarinet board.

Encouraging someone to do their own homework IS helping them. That's how we learn.
And if you transcribe it yourself, I guarantee you'll never forget it.
