Has anybody ever dealt with AJSales sax repair is Utah?
They have extremely inexpensive labor rates, stating they like doing the work and I imagine they make up for it on their parts.

I've had horns sent to me from all over the country and have sent some out and back. Most of the time they need some adjusting after being handled by UPS, FedEx, U.S. Mail, Airborne, etc. I am fortunate in that there's a number of good techs in my area. I am even more lucky in that I have found a guy who does really great work with a high level of attention to all the little stuff. If he wasn't here I would drive my horns to someone good but would refrain from shipping them.

There is no way this is a pro tech. He/she would actually be loosing money, big time, even on parts. Sounds kinda fishy. Maybe someone is just practicing, on your horns, or ?

Amateur at best - would-be clip-artist at worst. Notice the following very unusual conditions:
• No estimates until you send the horn. (Then they've got your horn - what are you going to do but let them fix it?)
• Repairs are listed as "plus cost of pads etc." "Etc." can be whatever they want it to be - a bald-faced excuse to pad the bill.
• Unclaimed instruments are resold after 60 days.
These people aren't in the repair business. They're in the sucker business. Pass 'em by.

Sounded too good to be true!
I found a local repairperson, but when I said I needed a C-Melody sax redone, he said "WHY?". Nice way to run a business. I don't think he's the one either. Another said the sax would be worth the amount I paid him to do the work. Somebody would have to pay me to take the sax and then it might be worth what he charged.
So far my best choice that I can look forward to is a one hour drive, by somebody I was referred to through another forum. I don't think I want somebody to work on my sax if they are not into it.
