It would make a nice paper weight, but I prefer to have a bank balance.

That's kind of gross. What does one do with a mouthpiece in that unfinished state? Would you need a CNC machine to make it a useful mouthpiece? I've seen a lot of these on ebay over the last couple of weeks.

$611 seems like a lot for a paperweight.

I could finish one but I'd have to see it. It needs a lot more work than the barrel turned but they were never very good anyway. I think a Yanagasawa or my T/C is a better piece. Phil

I was also thinking I would make a nice paper weight but not really cheap. If one of our great mouthpiece guys finishes this is it a refaced guardala and will sell for big bucks on ebay?

I think you, Phil, should better keep making your own pieces. They are better.

Phil, How much would you want to make a paper weight like the one in the link?

Hey Phil,

Do you remember the keychain you made from a Guardala soprano mouthpiece? You punched a hole right through the biteplate, put a ring through the thing and, BLAMO! A Dave Gaurdala keychain!

Now THERE's an idea!

I need a new keychain!

Now where's that NOS Guardala soprano piece I had...

$611?

And you would have to be Phil Barone in order to make anything out of it. And Phil says it's junk anyway?

$611?

There are some crazy CRAZY people in the world.

If I took a knife and whittled an unfinished mouthpiece out of a block of soft brass, would somebody give me $600+ for it? I wonder... :?
