I got this song called "Jazzman" ft 'Bleeding Gums Murphy', but Lisa also plays "Baker Street" (look for versions by Gerry Rafferty or -cough- René Froger ft Candy Dulfer) a lot.
I 've got the score on Baker Street, but I haven't got a scanner...

Hi iplay. Can I respectfully point out that this is a forum, accessed by computer, not phone, and as such text messaging is not the most appropriate format to use. It has its place, but this isn't it. I suggest you check http://saxontheweb.myforums.net/viewtopic.php?t=5218&highlight= for some discussion on posting legibly. No offence intended, and this is only my opinion, but I (and many others) find 'proper' English easier to read. :)

I would just like to reinforce what Stitch said. Please don't take this as a flame, as it is not intended to be, but remember that this forum is read by users all over the World. Textspeak, webspeak (and "Singlish" for those users that deliberately insist on using this intentionally appalling Singapore slang English for no reason other than you think it is cool - you know who you are) is utterly unintelligible to many for whom English is not a first language.
As a contributer to other forums, and via e-mail, in French, Italian, German and Spanish, I am thankful that I seldom ever see equivalents in those languages, as it would prevent me from contributing. Thankfully, most of those using these boards for whom English is not a first language here have a far better command of English than I have of French, Italian, German and Spanish so most can probably interpret what goes on here. But please don't make it more difficult than it needs to be. You will find you will probably get far more responses if you stick to normal English.
Sorry for the rant - it is clearly not just directed at you , and I needed to get it off of my chest :D
[/rant off]
Back on topic, have you worked out from Lambik's post the specific song you were after ? Was it Jazzman ? Or Baker Street (not likely if you are getting many requests. It only cropped up in one episode, and far more people would associate the song with Gerry Rafferty) ? If you are getting frequent requests, I would guess it is more likely to be the theme tune ? I get requests for the theme tune all the time. Let me know, and I will see what I can do to help.
Billy The Fish.

Lol, i've got both (my teacher wrote them down quickly)...
Hmmz, thinkie thinkie... Could you figure it out, if I'd say Baker Street on alto is written in A (F# C# G#), and consists of following notes:
F# D C# B A B C# B
F# D C# B A F#____
You surely can do it by ear, if you got these notes.... Just follow the rythm.
I don't know the Simpsons tune by heart..

Merci, belgium do speak french or do they, they did when we stoped there from travelling back from germany :?
Lambik

In fact, 4 million Belgians speak French, 6 million Belgians speak Dutch and 60.000 Belgians speak German.
I speak Dutch (well, call it Flemish), but there a lot of French words in Flemish slang, "merci" being one of the many.
But that's off topic, play the song ;)

Got somthing to say to billy and stitch:
Dont be prudes, some people dont have time to sit at their computers all day typing because they're not as fast and dont spend all their time in front of a moniter. Not to be rude but if they want to talk in slang how on earth does it affect you. Unless your completely retarded, its easy to figure out what they are saying.

jsweenie, grow up and have a little respect for others. I don't consider not having English as your first language to be retarded  . I (and many others) have already made it quite clear how it affects others adversely. That type of slang makes it very difficult for international members the community to understand some of the posts, and quite unnecessarily so.
You only joined this forum today. I suggest you quickly learn not to throw personal insults around if you want to play an active and constructive role in this community.
J ss dsl q vs m pnsz ss n flr bl.
(and if you don't know what that is, it is "I am sorry that you think I am a prude" in French with the vowels removed. Does that perhaps illustrate the point ? I speak French and correspond in French a great deal. However, it is not my first language and I would stand no chance of interpreting the above, making me a "retard" I guess :? . If I saw it on a message board it would exclude me from the discussion and we want this place to embrace and be inclusive of everybody. It is a wonderful forum with wonderful people from all over the World.)
The other thing to bear in mind with slang of this nature is it cannot be translated by services such as Alta Vista's Babel Fish (which I use often to help me understand some non-English topics when I don't understand the vocubulary, and which is used by many non-English speakers to enable them to actively contribute to message boards generally - not just Sax On The Web)
This topic aside, I welcome you to the community with open arms, and hope our future dialogues can be much more constructive :D . In the meantime, lets not hijack iplaydasax's original topic any more than we have already done, especially as he took the constructive feedback in the spirit intended.

ok i think i misread somehing. I appologize for being an *** but in my defense i didn't exactly read the part about language interpretation. I just thought you were being dumb and snooty. I hope i havent overly offended anyone. And seeing as english is my 3rd language, I should probably be a little more understanding.

Hello guys,
Neither of those links are working ... I get "OOooops" errors... "this page no longer exists" and I'm not wise enough to work it out over chord changes... might get a few notes, but terribly lacking in ear training and would be hugely grateful if anyone could point me in the direction of freebie written scores for both Simpsons theme and Bakerstreet solo so I can learn them parrot fashion.
Yours hopefully,
RED

Yeah, I get that error too...
But in the episode where they show the story of how Lisa got her sax, "Lisa" plays the simpsons theme in the ending credits, in a Jazz style.
Only it's cut short because Homer chimes in and puts an end to it...
Question:
Lisa plays a what kind of sax?
Visually, the neck would say a Baritone sax, but it has the body of an alto sax, and the sound of a tenor sax.
Best of all three worlds, eh?
Edit:
I've found another site.. though I'm not sure if it's the same song?
http://www.redstone-tech.com/gerry/chords.htm
It's for guitar, but it also includes sax music, :)
