Well isn't that written on the piece?
I have a few of them in my cupboard and as far as I know they were originally delivered together with SML horns.
They play rather nicely with a very warm tone but are way too narrow for my (and I guess most modern) taste.

I've seen a few SML mouthpieces. They seem to be garden variety "Woodwind & Co." blanks.
It seems that SML, A.Lelandais, Dolnet and others stenciled their brand onto these "Woodwind" blanks at one time or another.
WW&Co mouthpieces are made from that great old hard rubber. They have huge chambers and they usually have close facings. They can be opened up, of course.
I play a WW&Co on baritone (that's what Harry Carney used).
that's what I was wondering.....if they were Woodwind Co. blanks out of New York wth SML Paris stamped on them. I know Woodwind made some steel ebonite pieces for some of the SML tenors....the King Marigaux model I think. thanks for the reply
I just noticed two vintage pieces on ebay made by the Woodwind Co. in NY.....they are exactly the same shape & design as the piece with SML Paris on it except they have different lettering.

Yeah, I got the original stock SML mpc with my Gold Medal tenor when I got it. Never bothered looking into who made/stenciled it... Tried it for awhile, and it was ok, just so-so, nothing spectacular. I concur with BarrySachs that it had a huge chamber and it did produce a nice rich, complex warm tone but the tip was too closed for me to get a very big sound out of... My first mpc I bought for it was an ebonite Berg 110/0 which just made a huge difference (way bigger sound) and I've never looked back...
