View Full Version : My Bad...
I had a "conversation" with the Yanagisawa factory about three years ago. At that time they said my Yani T-500 (ser# 173246) was a 1967 model and I've stated likewise on SOTW. However, considering the research done by Hurling Frootmig and others, I've lately been thinking that this might not be accurate. So I called the factory again tonight. This time they told me that my horn was built in Jan 1973. I guess this means that the serial number/date of manufacture correlation for this period is pretty self evident.
Makes perfect sense to me...now.

Hi,xax
I've been warking at Yanagisawa for 17 years.Your horn is not so old.Did you call the factory or repair room? Indeed, older serial number was come from the year and month that is made. But your T-500 is not. I guess it is made 14 or 15 years ago.
I'm still learning English, forgive me my funny English.

xax, I need to say sorry about my message. Your tenor is not #00173246, just only #173246 right? It was made in jan 1973 definitely.
Hi HIDESAKU,
Thanks for checking that serial number. Yes, it is just 173246. I'm glad we have an accurate method to determine the date of manufacture for older Yanagisawas.
Do you know if the factory will overhaul an older horn like mine?
I'm still learning English, forgive me my funny English.
Hey man, If you think your English is funny, wait until you hear my Japanese! :D

We are really glad to see someone from Yanagisawa browse these forums. You will find that there are a lot of people who have questions about Yanagisawa and it's relationship with Prima Gakki. I hope you don't mind answering some questions we've had for a long time!
これから、宜しくお願いします!
