i have found a s800 yanagisawa soprano.....serial number 00109766 and wonder if this truly is an s 800...and what would be a good price for this model? thanks....

It certainly could be an S800. The S800 entered the market in July 1978, and the S880 didn't show up until June 1985. Your sax would have been a 1981-1982 vintage based on serial number. Your S800 should be a 1-piece - no detachable neck.

The only part of the picture I'm not sure about is when Yani STOPPED making certain models. So I suppose it's possible that an earlier model could have been made and sold at that time, but it seems less likely to me.
