I love my Runyon Custom Quantum, but doubling is very difficult because of the duckbill design. Is there a tenor piece that projects and plays as easily as the Q with a normal beak design? How about the Runyon version of the Brilhart Levelair?

Try a Ponzol M2. It has a regular beak design. I switched to one from a Quantum as a matter of fact, not because of the beak, but because it sounded alot better IMO. Plenty of projection, if you can handle it, get the 120 tip opening.

The Runyon made Brilhart is metal. You can also consider a metal Quantum with the tooth deck option. I use this on bari.
On tenor, I still use the Delrin Quantum, but I have 2 layers of the thick black tooth patch on it.

I have a friend who had the same problem with the Q, and switched to a Runyon XL, and last I heard was very happy with it.
Ifind theQ's desing extremely comfortable, but then I don't do uch doubling. (none actually, but do swap mpcs around a godo deal)
