I own a Buescher Aristocrat tenor, Model 156 with a big bell. The case I have been using with great luck is the case that came with my very first horn, a 70's Yanagisawa tenor that I purchased for $700. It was a superb horn. The case is really nice, very well made, with a bright orange plush interior. I have used it consistantly for a long time with multiple horns without any problems. Is this a good case? Is this case a perfect fit for my current tenor, a big bell Buescher Aristocrat? It doesn't contour perfectly to the sax, but it seems fairly secure.

There are couple of important things to consider when you choose a case for your horn: 1) it should be hard, protective case; a gigbag is not a good option 2) your horn should fit in the case tightly but not too tight; there should be no movement of the horn in ANY direction when horn is inside the case (also check this with the lid closed). You should also check that the latches are secure and in working condition. The best way to store your neck and mouthpiece is in the neck pouch (Kiwi,BG) inside the bell of the horn.Hiscox procase (which should fit your Aristocrat) is the best case on the market, imo.Check it out.
