is the snap itself on the Buescher snap on pads a resonator, or does one have to be installed? If one has to be installed, how can this be accomplished?

Thanks

The Snap is the Resonator. I think Gayle posted some pics somewhere in a thread... Gayle?

Assuming your dealing with original equipment that has not been altered:
There is a male 'spud' in the center of the pad cup with a bulbous head. The back of the resonator has a four prong snap on it like a button might. The metal-backed buescher pad has a larger center hole that fits around the spud in the pad cup. Once the pad is in the pad cup the Resonator snaps onto the spud holding the pad in place.

Buescher snaps are fairly small and have a more fierce dome than other resos. If it's an original snap-in resonator you should be able to pry it off with a butter knife.

The butterknife is the greatest tool ever not created to be a tool!
