Anyone ever heard of a Brancher mouthpiece for soprano sax? I bought one recently after playing a variety of other metal mouthpieces from the usual suspects, ie. otto, selmer, dukoff, berg.

i had problems with getting the lower notes on my horn (yani) except for the brancher. i think it's a good mouthpiece but i read other people's comments on other MPs but never come across the name brancher. does anyone else have experience? also, i use a rubber otto link which seems to be ok, but stuff on the D but great for lower notes.

what's up with some of these other MPs that are never carried by regular music stores like Runyon, Guardala, etc. I never seem to be able to try them--I'm in HK so it's difficult to get good gear, bc i never buy before i try.

I bought a Brancher metal J20 soprano mouthpiece. I like it a lot. I find that it has a very fat bottom end, probably due to the large bore. However, it also has some nice upper partials, probably due to the high baffle. I am playing it on an older Mark VI soprano that is very dark and fat. I needed to find a mouthpiece that brought out the upper partials as many other mouthpieces had a tendency to sound tubby on this horn.

I tried one their soprano mpc when looking for a new one. It was a very good mpc, but I did not like the sound. Good quality mouthpieces. It is a French manufacturer, Pascal Brancher in St Forgeot.
They come in three different chambers:
L(arge)
J(azz)
