So I have a flight a case, that I recently bought off ebay for a dastardly low price. The case will get the job done for me, its lightweight, small, fits my alto like a glove, and Im not doing much travelling except locally for gigs, nothing out of town usually.

But the problem is the case has a handle but no shoulder strap or even a clip to attach a strap onto

Is there any way that I could solder something onto it to make a strap clip or anything of the sort

its a plastic outer shell so Im not exactly sure about what to do

any opinions would be appreciated, thank you

I'd like to know this, also. I got a protec case because it has backpack straps, but I like my stock Yamaha case so much better. It's just hard to carry it with just the handles.

Any suggestions for attaching loops to clip on a strap would be appreciated.

You can buy metal loops at various hardware stores or instrument catalogs like Ferree's (I think). You will need to buy a hand riveter and get a small piece of metal for backing. The holes in the base of the metal loops will need to be marked and drilled into the case where you want it attached. The lining of the case where these attach will need to be pulled back a little, but it should be able to be glued back with no problem afterwards. The holes need to be drilled into the case and through the metal backers...you then just simply line up the holes with the metal loop on the outside of the case and the metal backing on the inside where you pulled the lining from and rivet it together. Practice a couple times riveting on a similar sized "dummy" to make sure you know how to get it tight since it is a pain to remove rivets.
