For those wishing to break summer boredom.
Patrick Gallois recorded a flute transcription of the Paganini 24 Caprices, op. 1, on Deutsche Grammophon (CD 435768-2). Mr. Gallois also published his transcription with Leduc (Al 28 868)
The Leduc sheetmusic is available through Fluteworld as their item 44L01AL2886. I am attempting #18, which makes use of harmonic passages.
He also describes his method of circular breathing and gives exercises, provides flute and vocal notation on some of the Caprices, and calls for the playing of two notes at the same time for other Caprices (no clue how to technically do this).
It can be done because the proof is on DG. Have fun.
