After Dave Kessler stated that WWBW is declaring bankruptcy I was looking for another place to buy from so I looked at Music123 and the site is the same. I was comparing Selmer Soloists on both sites

you must see the sites and scroll down through the facings and look at the pictures and look at the dates for being stocked for each facing:

Music123 bought WWBW awhile back. (Or was it the other way around?) Either way, they are effectively the same thing and drawing out of the same stock.

WWBW bought Zapf's music and then changed the name to Music 123. Zapf's music was a great bunch of stores in the Philadelphia area before the big box stores like Guitar Center and Sam Ash forced them to sell out. You need score card to keep up with these guys.

They've been basically the same outfit for a pretty good while. When I was posted in Belgium ('00-'03) I ordered a bunch of kit from WWBW and it arrived in a box addressed from Music 123.

I think Zapf's created Music123 as their mail order company. Later WW&BW purchased Music123.

I see.

"Bankruptcy" does not equal "out of business." Bankruptcy for a business often just means blowing off debt while the people who got rich from the business stay rich.

In this case, it was actually a successful lawsuit by the former owners of Zapf's that forced Wwbw into bankruptcy:

See the last three paragraphs of this (http://biz.yahoo.com/ap/061228/woodwind_brasswind_loan.html?.v=1) article.

It's interesting that Conn-Selmer wants to buy WWBW's assets. Either Guitar Center or Steinway will tighten their grip on the US instrument market with this...sigh...I think I'll keep buying from ProWinds as much as possible.
