I need some advice about which m- piece to choose. I am buying a couf Superba II and thinking about a custom spoiler mouthpiece. I play mostly jazz stuff like funk and blues and then I need something a little more mellow that blends well for concert band. I am a pretty good player and I am thinking about a #7 tip and was wondering if I could get some help.

Alto, tenor, baritone? When I use a custom spoiler, I use #7 for alto and #8 for tenor. They play comfortably. I could probably go a size larger or smaller and still have them work well.

I use the Runyon Custom #8 for most playing for bari sax. I have used it for concert band and sax quartet, as well as big band. My son uses a Custom #7 for bari in his high school concert band. He has played the Custom since Jr High, and has made first chair in a number of Honor Bands in our area. Yes, the Custom Spoiler will do it all, just about. The 7 would be an excellent choice for you.
