What means 2nd engraving in a Meyer mouthpiece ?
Is an authentic Meyer?
I have proven the mouthpiece and I have not liked.

I have seen one of these. It was a normal looking meyer but it had the wwords "2nd Ed." engraved on it. I didnt know anything about it and found it suspect so I returned and purchased from a more reputable dealer instead.

I think they were prototypes for the ones they currently make.

Is the same Meyer and Meyer 2nd?
It will sound equal if I prove a Meyer (not 2nd)?

This is correct. I have obtained some of these from my suppliers and sold them at a discount as a more economical way to get into a Meyer. If it plays well for you, buy it. If it doesn't, get something else.
I do like to joke with players and tell them they are for playing the 2nd alto book!
