Hi Guys,
Just got my A2000 from Kesslers yesterday. I love it, however, I'm having a problem with the high G3 (first altissimo note). I can't seem to get it to play using any of the mouthpieces I have. I'm only an alto doubler, but have no problem with the regular tenor fingering on other altos I have (all cheap student horns). What's wrong here? Any suggestions on alternate fingerings? Is this just a break in thing? PLEASE HELP!!!!

Hey Phil,

I have an A2000 as well and I use the same fingerings that have worked on other altos I own/have owned. I didn't find the Unison any more difficult.

Here's 3 that all work for me:

F / side Bb
F / 1
1 3 /1 3 side Bb

Hope one of those work for you.

Kevin

Thanks Kevin, I appreciate you taking the time to answer. Since posting my request, I looked at some fingering charts I had and found one that works pretty well. It's similar to the ones you listed.

It's: 0 1 0 3 / 0 0 3
octave
However, I'm used to just the left hand F key and right hand high F key. I'll just have to get used to a different fingering, because I like the horn. How do you like the Unison? Let me know what you think, as I don't know anyone else who owns one.

Thanks again,
Phil

Phil,

I really like the horn alot, especially for the money. I have recently returned to playing (about a year) after a long layoff. I have Kessler Custom alto and bought the Unison as a step up. I can't justify spending 2k to 4k for a horn since it is just a hobby for me.

I find the Unison warm and resonant, with a good scale.
