A bad idea

I think I might have ruined a new MP I bought. I sprayed some fantastic on it, and then soaked it in hot water for a while. Stupid, yes I know.

It still sounds great, but there appears to be some discoloration, a darkish green color.

Have I screwed up my MP?

Not at all. Now you just have a discolored mouthpiece that
plays great!

I'd avoid soaking hard rubber mouthpieces in very hot water. Although it's never happened to me, I've heard of the rubber softening and the facing curve changing. Only very slightly, but that's all it takes I guess!!
