Meyer Bros NY Tru-Flex Question

My teacher brought me a mouthpiece to check out today. In looking at Theo's website, it's very similar to this piece (http://www.mouthpieceheaven.com/misc/meyer.htm#trueflex). However, there are three differences. It has MeYer Bros written on it just like a Meyer NY instead of lengthwise. New York is written on the underside of the shank below the table instead of on top of the shank below Meyer Bros. Lastly, in the cut out, it says "Meyer Tru-Flex" instead of "Meyer Tru-Flex Facing". It's a 5S facing. Is this a later Tru-Flex before the NY model came out? If not, any ideas?

The piece is in very good shape, a little discoloring on the shank and a little above over the Meyer Bros writing, some toothmarks (scratches) but no gouges at all. Any thoughts on value?

Wow - boy does this piece project! And it's brighter than any other Meyer I've tried (6M, 7M, NY Limited 7M). Brighter than my Lost Wax Meyer copy. It sounded great on my 875, and even better on my Chu. I may be working out a deal with my teacher on this one...

I've tried searching for more info on this piece, and have come up empty. Does anyone have any ideas?

Perhaps it's a MeYer Bros. mpc that has had the "Tru-Flex" facing applied to it by request of a particular player at that time. It seems like I've seen the Tru-Flex facing on various other Meyers, and even on some non-Meyer pieces. My guess is that any piece could be sent to Meyer for a re-facing or application of the Tru-Flex facing. Sounds like a great piece. Here's my address...
