I have a Lawton 7*B for alto and I'm well pleased with it. Is there an reason to think that the same (7-8*, B or not to B) would be just as good for my Buescher 38 Aristo Tenor.

I'm currently using a plastic Brillhart level air 7* which I've just about conquered, but things shouldn't have to be so hard. It has a dirty big step baffle in it and has to be stuck right on the end the cork to play in tune.

Is there a comparable Link equivelant? (They're easy to find over here and not too dear)

Thanks for any advice

Bob

I have Lawtons on alto and tenor, see my sig for the specifics. I think they both sound and play very similarly (the alto/tenor difference not withstanding).

It's been many, MANY years since I've played a Brillhart Level Air. My memories of t are not good ones. I think you will find the Lawtons to be much easier to play, and have a much richer more robust sound.

Of course the only way to know for sure is to play one on your horn. That's getting very hard to do with the Lawtons since almost noone (and in fact NO ONE in the US) carries them in stock. You have to buy, and then resell if you're not happy with it. But most people end up being very satisfied with their Lawton mouthpeices.
