Anyone compared Keilwerth SX90 alto with EX90 before? The description stated that the body of both saxophones are the same and the only differences were the design & arrangement of keys.

Thus, the intonation almost the same but in half price! Any comment on that?! :?

IIRC, the EX altos are not true Keilwerth horns. They are made by Amati and have a totally different design than the SX-90 series.

Oh! ST series are produced by Taiwan factory and EX series are made by Amati in Czech (or also Taiwan?).

So, only SX series, SX-R series and CX series are truely made by Julius Keilwerth in Germany now?

The EX serie III is made by Amati but I and II were not.
I played an EX90 II (sn 111K) and an early SX90 (sn 98K), both tenor and plain lacquer. There was some difference but not immense, the SX90 felt better built but sound was very comparable to my ears. The SX90 was noticeably heavier but it was an early model and also the SX90 went later through modfications resulting in a lighter model. Some qualified players reported that this affected negatively the sound.

Bottom line: if you can get a good price (i.e. 1200$) for a used EX90 I or II it can be a worthy buy.

Why Keilwerth produces its saxophones in Taiwan, except SX & CX! JK does not afraid of losing goodwill due to the decreasing level of qualities?

It's called economics.

If what you write is accurate I think Keilwerth is plenty dishonest since the EX90 II I tried had clearly written Made in Germany (or West Germany, this I don't remember) below the serial number. Besides dishonesty, I think it violates import/export rules.

Moving production elsewhere is acceptable to me unless kept hidden.

To the best of my knowledge, the EX series is assembled in Germany from parts made in Taiwan.
