Hello,
Supposedly they are wooden, rectangular cases similar to the Vanguard case. I prefer rectangular cases over contoured ones. I'm getting a selmer alto from a dealer who brings it from the factory and he told me it could be sent from the factory with this kind of case instead of the flight case. Thks

Lessee, you'd like to replace your new modern ergo case that is lighter with an old-fashioned, heavier case. Sure you can store a lot more stuff in them but they are nasty heavy. What do you want to know about the delux case?

Well, so they do exist after all...
1. Is it a protective case in your opinion?
2. How is padding?
3. Does it have a special neck only compartment or does it have to go with everything else?
4. How would you compare it in protection against the flight case?
Thks

If you are talking about the factory in France (not Elkhart) then it may be the small case that is not sold here. I had one with my VI when new which was a nice light case with a tight fit. Not really strong crush wise and the padding was minimal but the horn stayed put and the size was a plus. A photo would help. If you are not sure what the case is, it may be best to take the cheapest case and upgrade aftermarket.
