i just got back from a series of jazz camps where i was told by professor after professor the dangers of a stretchy neck strap. so i am ready to dump the neotech and get something a little less bouncy. maybe something leather. i like the brancher but i have a silver horn and i dont think it would go with the gold plating.

The wide straps from the 70's work well. They are generally on the ugly side but it adds a certain charm!

The brancher straps that saxforte.com sells come with silver or brass hardware, I think. They are great straps.

I have been looking for a more comfortable tenor strap for a while. The Neotech is comfortable but way too stretchy. The basic ray hyman too narrow, but at least it isn't so springy so that is what I have been using, until today. I decided I was never going to use the neotech again so I put it under the knife.
I cut the stitching that holds the elastic and replaced it with plain 1" nylon webbing from walmart and sewed it back together using a sewing machine to match the original pattern of stitching. It is as comfortable as it was before, and no more bounce. Total cost $.89. Total improvement 100%.
Hard to beat $.89 8)
