Hi guys ...
I'm gonna buy a new Metal Alto Mouthpiece for my Selmer Mark VI Alto Saxophone.
Now I'm using only Hard Rubber Selmer Soloist E and Vandoren Jumbo JAVA A55 .
So, this is my first time to choose a Metal piece between BEECHLER BELLITE #7 and YANAGISAWA #7 for Rock and Fusion sounds ...
What is your opinion ?
Which Ligature is good for your chosen MPC ?
Thanks ...

Those two are quite different. The Yanagisawa has a smooth rich but rather bland sound, the Beechler is brighter and more strident in sound. You prefer either one of them, I prefer the Yani as I find the Beechler very uncomfortable in my mouth, the reed tens to stand proud either side of the table and maybe also because it is stainless steel. They both come with a good ligature as standard.
If you want fusion type sounds, you maybe should look at a mouthpiece with a high baffle, such as a Berg Larsen or Lawton type - or maybe go for a Runyon with a removable 'spoiler' baffle.

go for beechler . u wont regret although it takes a few weeks to get used to it. yani just sounds like a dry link with abit of baffle.

Try the Beechler before you buy it!
As mentioned above, it is an unusual, but very good mouthpiece.
When mine arrived, I could not play it. The facing curve was too
short (for me anyway...). I had it refaced, and now it is a great
one.
Maybe the Beechlers vary quite a bit, or some people actually like short
facings...Also, you need to get used to the small shape of the tip, but
that is something you can do within a week or so.
I played the Yani once, and was quite unimpressed, as it takes away a
lot of the richness/tone spectrum from my MK VI.

Try a Jody Jazz ESP Gold 0.083 with an extra-bright spoiler (larger baffle). I just sold my Beechler 7 because it is somewhat finnicky and not free-blowing enough. The JJ ESP solves that. All notes play easily at any volume. With the larger spoiler you can get into Sanborn territory.

I do not know if all Beechlers have short facings, but scale_masters sure was before I worked on it. So you may want to try a smaller tip size than you normally use to get a similar resistance feel with the short facing.
