These have been out now for a while, and out of stock as well, given the fact this was a limited edition. I was able to purchase one of a forgotten stock (6MM, alto) and traded of my Lawton Bronze MEtal 7 plain. Still ahve a Selemer Super Session F lying around in top condition. This mouthpiece though complements my Ref 54 to the extreme.
Ther emust be at least 3000 people around how play or have played this mpc and I wonder whether there are some good or bad experiences around in terms of sound or playability.

I like mine - It plays similiar to my USA 6MM with a somewhat fuller mid-range. I've never play an actual NY Meyer 6MM so I've nothing to compare it to. I really PAID for this piece but it's very solid and I'll most likely keep it for MANY years.

I have played a few of these pieces and used one as my main for about 3 years. The quality of the finish was superior ot the regular pieces and the facing was done by only 2 tech's ... my understanding. Plus the rubber is supposedly a different blend then a standard piece.
Plus cool piece to have ... but 3000 pieces?
I always wondered about this ... the way they worded the promo I figure they could make 9000 .... 3000 for each size 5MM, 6MM AND 7MM.
You just never know.

well, given the fact that they are all numbered, that would be easy to find out. Is there anyone out there with a number > 3000. Mine is 0529.

My understanding is that there were 3000 TOTAL. Only 1000 in each facing 5,6 and 7.
they are quite good & similar to the NY USA, I believe the rubber used was frozen by some special process to age it & make it denser. I remember reading that a few yrs back, but then I could be wrong. if you got one hold onto it, they're hard to come by & go for about $350 on ebay. I had a 5M & sold it several yrs back & could kick myself now for doing it.....live & learn.

Can't wait to try mine out. I was originally in the market for a regular Meyer 7m, but when I saw one for sale, I snatched it up and figured I'd worry about the cost at later. I bought a LTD 6mm that should be here at the end of this week or next week. I'm hoping I like it. I also have a JJ DV for alto that has been the best mouthpiece I've played. Maybe the Meyer will be a good second piece or maybe the DV will be a good secondary piece. Can't wait to find out.

In what respect does the Meyer Limited similar to NY Meyer?

Better than the stock models by quite a lot IMO. Much less resistance, bigger sound and can be pushed easier to get more volume. The piece still retains all the best qualities of a Meyer and has the same distinctive sweet sound but is more responsive and blows more freely.

Apparently they are using better rubber and they try to copy the specifications of the meyer Bros mouthpiece. Be forewarned before you get all hyped up that NEITHER the meyer bros or this mouthpiece are magic. I have tried out a few of both and I actually liked my stock USA meyer better (probably because I picked it out of a gigantic batch)
