Is there any hard, plastic like mouthpiece patch, unlike the cushioned ones? I want to protect my mpc from teeth marks and be able to move freely while I'm playing.

man this is a great question. i recently tried some mp's from ww and bw. The local stores have a black thick peice of rubber and the a thin clear soft type. In the package the ww sent there were some thin clear hard plastic patches that I love. They make it feel like the metal mp is a hard rubber one. the adhesive on them is not too good, the front right part always comes up/off. I think that has to do with the way my teeth set. Anyway call the ww&bw to find out what the hard plastic patches are and how to get more. I'm going to.

You know I've also noticed how WWBW gives out those hard plastic like patches. But they come off too easily because of poor adhesive. I really don't feel comfortable with those cushioned patches because it leaves teethmark and I can't get any free movement especially in the highs. Let me know if you have any good news from WWBW.

go to an office supply or stationary store. Buy the adhesive backed clear plastic sheets used for laminating photos and documents-cut out your own mpc patches. A package of these approx. 3 x 5" cost about $2.00 for 4 or 5 sheets

You can buy hard thin patches meant for the purpose from www.dawkes.co.uk - these are actually used by music shops to prevent damage to mouthpiece on trial, and come in packs of either 25 or 50, can't remember which. I bought some in error, hoping for the soft type, but I suspect this might do the job for you?

I agree entirely...the clear thin patches are not all created equal, though. I have found the Vandoren brand (with a little logo even) to be thinner and harder than either the Runyon or BG patches. However, it is still softer than the mouthpieces. I find it to be a good tradeoff...it takes a small dent a little easier than a mouthpiece.
