WWBW sells these ovoid clear plastic stick-on removable baffles for every kind of sax mouthpiece. I'm curious, but wary of gimmickry.
Have you ever used one? What horn/mouthpiece setup did you use it on, and what did it do to your tone & response? How does it compare to a Runyon or JodyJazz spoiler? Would you recommend it to other players?

I tried them on a metal Link for tenor; weren't what I wanted, not enough variety. I'd advise using dental wax to experiment to see exactly what you want. Then let one of the experts build up the baffle to your exact specifications for you.
The Powertones are a good idea but they don't extend all the way across the piece so they're not as effective as a wedge or baffle that does reach across. I'd like to see them offered as larger square shapes so the player can cut them to suit the mouthpiece and individual taste. But stick-in or stick-on baffles can be very effective.

I have them in my 2 Link mouthpieces. They don't significantly change the tone I like in the Links, but do add a nice punch to the mouthpiece, taking them from kind of stuffy and unresponsive to quite responsive, but , as stated above, not as much as if you had a full size wedge. I like the powertones just because they are more subtle than a spoiler type wedge. I wouldn't call them a gimic, myself.
