I have a nice sounding older mouthpiece that I play that I really enjoy, but i have problems with it. It does not make a nice seal around the cork, air leaks out. I am getting new cork tomorrow so it might fix this problem. The model of the piece is a buffet C2 hard rubber. Any suggestions on getting it to fit better?

A new cork is the best solution. For a temporary solution use plumbers' teflon tape, which you wrap around the cork until it is thick enough to seal.
Cork compresses after some time. It can be uncompressed by dipping it into hot (not boiling) water, but I've found the effect is not lasting very long.

You can also heat it up with a lighter so it'll swell but make sure you don't actually burn it. If you do it properly it'll last for quite a while.
