Before the site crashed, I posted that I had bought a Meyer 5M mpc, but
never really paid much attention that it didin't have a # stamped on the
table. I took it back to the shop today, and comparing it to other Meyer
5M's it was obvious that the piece had been planed down, and that's why
there wasn't a stamp. The piece had been sealed in plastic, and the box
was still sealed when it was purchased. There are sign of some gouging
still left on one of the side rails, and that side rail had been beveled to
reduce the signs of gouging. In short, the whole thing was mucked up.
Sooo, they ordered another, and since I sanded my cork to fit a Meyer,
I'm keeping the buggered piece until the new one arrives. Hopefully the
QC dept has let a few good pieces slip through, and I won't have to wait
for another batch<GRIN>.

Have Fun, Frank

There were a few sax players working at the shop yesterday, and
they all said "YIKES" (or something like it*grin*) when they saw the
piece. In comparing it to the demo Meyer 5M, they planed quite a
bit off, and I was wondering how that effected chamber height.
Hmmmm......
