Hi all, i am looking for a mouthpiece that can play the low notes with warmth, yet maintaining the sweet quality of the higher register, eg the tone of Michael brecker in "my one and only love".

The sound i am working towards with training is that which is mellow, full, able to project and versatile to bring out the nuances of the note (like Brecker and whalum) and medium bright for jazz, pop ballad, blues music.

I am living in Singapore and dun have the luxury to try and compare diff pieces before buying. What are the recommendations for a safe buy? I get my stuff from WWBW.

Thanks!

The only safe buy is to not buy from WW&BW. Try International Music Suplier.

join the club. (of people trying to get this sound). I'm getting fairly close with my SR tech pro. Thinking of trying: vandoren V16, modified metal links.

I've never had any problems with wwbw.

http://www.srtechnologies.com/tenor.html. Mine plays great but they are quite narrow which can bother your lip unless you sand the reed down a bit. wwbw has them.
