Anyone try one of these? What is the impression? Tone, intonation, ease of play, etc etc?
I play a current Meyer 5M, and I'm looking to get a slightly better lead alto piece. I was wondering if the G might be something worth investing my time and money in.
Thanks for any/all replies.

I tried a Meyer G 6 few months ago. On my Yanagisawa 991 alto it produced a dark, smooth and full sound. Intonation was very good. Compared to "normal" Meyer it is smoother and darker sounding. I prefer regular Meyer (brighter, more edge) but if you're into softer sound then it's a good option. This is just my opinion..

I just noticed that they're offering a tenor version, too.
It was ok, well said by Toumas.. sounds whinny but great for recording. A bit sharp in intonation and rather reed picky. But overall it's a nice piece if you're looking forward to doing some Desmond stuff. But I would stay away from it if you're planning to do any solos for bands or infront of a large crowd. It works great in micked environment with just enough effect, IMHO.
