View Full Version : Rico Royal Graftonite
I've been playing the alto for a while now. I wanted to try the tenor. The Graftonite mouthpieces look alright. I was wondering which one would be good for jazz? (chamber and facing size)

Try a 5 B or C chamber.
The C chamber is very bright. Bether for R&R not for jazz

A few weeks ago I bought a B5 for tenor just as an experiment and was totally impressed for the price (GBP£16.00). At that money I ordered the A5, which has the largest chamber and now play with V16 #2s for a brighter, jazzy tone, or Marca # 2 or 2.5s(great reeds incidently) for a fuller, darker sound. The piece produces a full fat tone at the bottom end and a nice smooth connection to the top end(altissimo I admit is an unknown entity to me). At the price I would urge anyone starting out and beyond to give them a try!!
