Request: Aebersold's Ear Training

Could anyone who owns this book/cd set give me a review on it? I've been thinking about getting it and Jamey seems to really like it. 8-)

In my opinion there are probably better books out there. Jamey plays the notes/scales/chords on the cd but the explanation of what they are leavea a lot to be desired.

it's a good place to start, but gets limiting pretty quickly in my opinion. there are materials that really should be covered that aren't, and its too easy to accidentally "memorize" the correct answers. using the material well requires inventive self discipline.

that said, it is a good place to start, and if you can't cope with this book you will likely have a hard time with the other things you'll need to graduate to. worth the $$, and you can probably re-sell it when you're through with it.
