I can't without hearing it pelez, but this might help you find it - the movie is titled "Moscow on the Hudson".

That opening section before and up to the defection is, for some reason to me, one of the more moving scenes in moviedom. Very touching.

I'm wondering if some of you could tell pelez how to post the sound clip here so more could listen to it and broaden his chances of getting an answer. I don't know how or I would.

If you don't already know how Pelez you have to find somewhere to host the file ( like myspace or putfile.com or your own space/website ) and then submit a link to it directly here. It will be easier/quicker if its in mp3 format and the sites i mentioned are free.
Hope this helps.

Problem solved by email.

For those curious - the tune is "Take the A-Train". The sound bite is roughly half or more improvisation and half (er, or less) the tune itself.

OT, thats a very nice movie. I still remember many of the scenes, including the sax scene, even though it must have been 20 years ago i saw it.
That was the first time i saw Maria Conchita Alonso, wow is she lovely in that one :)

Pelez - you just don't seem to be getting much help.
Here's the tune. If you want to play it in the same concert (piano) key as this music, for tenor sax you need to play it up one full step or an octave and one full step higher.
