This is a total shot in the dark, but...does anyone know where to purchase DVDs of the mid-90s show "Night Music"? This was a syndicated TV show hosted by David Sanborn that featured all kinds of cool stuff, and he played with nearly everyone.

oh that brings back memories. Pharoah Sanders, and then the night they all played toy instruments, Dave played one of those Casio DH100 synth sax things.. that was pretty funny.
oh, sorry I don't know of any sources, have you checked ebay?

Yeah, I couldn't find anything...
My favorite episode was the one where Sanborn played with Sonny Rollins. Sonny kept looking at Dave like he was worried that Dave wasn't going to be able to handle himself on a straight-ahead jazz tune...hilarious...

I remember seeing Ivo Papsov's Bulgarian Wedding Band on their once. They absolutely scared the bejeebers out of me. I couldn't believe how fast they played in odd meters, and how rapid-fire the articulation was.

hey Merlin!
Maybe that wedding band was playing one of those Eflat Tenor saxophones shown on the Jupiter website ;) !
But to the point: I posted the same question a while ago and got no response. The hosts were Sanborn and Jools Holland (from Squeeze, but now a huge Joe Turner/Jump Blues guy). The shows aren't listed for sale on his website (i.e. Holland's), so I'm guessing they're not available. With all the channels on, you'd think they'd be out there somewhere--isn't "Cool" a jazz channel?

Didn't Michelob or Miller beer sponsor the show? I can't remember which, maybe they own the rights? hmmmmm

Budweiser sponsored it. According to Sanborn himself, he wants the show released on DVD, but Lorne Michaels (who was the exec producer) is still owed money and he won't release it until he gets what he feels is owed to him.
I'm looking for some, uh, "second market" or "Asian import" copies...
