selmer LTDA1BG??

I am looking at buying my son a Selmer LTDA1BG saxophone. I was told that this would be a good upper intermediate sax. I can't find any info. on this instument. It is only sold at Brook Mays music stores. Can anyone give me some information on quality. (I'm pretty sure the "BG" means black and gold finish) How does this compare to other selmer or non-selmer saxophones.

It's the same as a Selmer La Voix. I tried the soprano and HATED it, but I've heard that the altos and tenors are pretty good. They are made in Taiwan, and I believe that they are made by Jupiter or Antigua.

Honestly, you can do much better for the price that you'll pay. You might look at a Yamaha YAS-52 (or even a used 62)or a Keilwerth EX.
