I'm looking at doing a rebuild of my old Conn bass case.
The plan is to gut it, reinforce the joints, cover the whole thing in fiberglass with epoxy resin, put a full length (piano-type) hinge on, and then refit the inside with closed cell foam. The outside will then be painted with a two-part black epoxy paint.
Any thoughts? Previous experience with this type of job?
I've built cedar strip canoes, so I've got a reasonable amount of experience working with wood and fibreglass.
