I'm considering one, I would love to here some opinons about the horn.
What would be a good price for one in good shape.
Thanks :?

I bought one a couple of months ago, and love it. It took a little hit in transit from Europe, but is in top playing condition now. I paid $1000. You can find them for a little more, or a little less, depending on condition.

I've owned a black lacquer 875 Custom, and a 62, and this horn is a much stronger player. It is a bit on the bright side though. Most guys would love it, but my tone tends to be bright, so I like a little darker sound. I found that I like either a Yani metal, or a Barone metal jazz model on this horn.

I played on one my Freshman year of high school, it was the first Tenor I ever played on. Great horn, but this particular one was really beat up. I reccommend it.

My current tenor is a Ref 54, after playing a '61 for 25 years I just had to have a new horn. Guess what, for rock 'n' roll I still use the '61, love it, and for blues the '61 still gets the gig. The Ref does the rest. IMHO '61's are great horns, yes, can be a bit bright, but love that tone! :P

I bought a YTS-61 a little less than a year ago. First large ebay purchase, and I was not disappointed. I had to make some adjustments to my "new" horn, and I had to replace a pad, but nothing major. I enjoy it a lot. I haven't owned many other tenors, but I've played dozens. Perhaps not the highest quality tenor out there, but easily the biggest bang for the buck. Great bright tone, good construction, and relatively easy on the pocketbook. I reccommend it to anyone.
