Reed: Try Vandoren Traditional Blue Box (either 2 or 2.5)
Lig: Try either Olegature. If too bright, then try a Rovner dark

I have a Bellite 7 for alto. On mine, I like a LaVoz medium soft reed. I'm still using the stock lig, but I look forward to trying the Olegature. I don't think of the Bellite as too bright. Just back-off a little and it gets warm and mellow. Lay into it and it brightens up.

I just had a Bellite 7 reworked by Keith (MojoBari). It turns out that the facing curve on mine was shorter than on other mouthpieces. This requires softer reeds for the same opening in order to make the reed sing the same way (don't quote me on this, I don't understand the physics....).
Anyway, I didn't like how it played, although the basic sound was good. Keith did a superb job, and now it plays extremely fast and rich in overtones with 2.5 type reeds. Maybe he will hate me for writing this  , because refacing a steel mouthpiece is a non-trivial task.....anyway, he has my highest respect.

I use Beechler Bellite # 7 with La Voz (medium).. This setup is easy control. As I feel Beechler bellite is sensitive with the reeds selection, I tried Rico Jazz select, Vand. V16, Jazz and trad. Some setup is too hard/easy to blow; some brands reed are varies piece from piece. When you use the Beechler factory provided lig., the sound will be brighter and it is good sound response. However, the factory lig's screw is easy to worm and if you don't used the sound, you may feel little bright!!!

Then I use Oleg model #7G one.. The sound will be warm. The #7G ligature is little bigger than MP size and it cannot give more pressure on the reeds. Any one use other Oleg model no. I would like to search one being ''more fit'' to my beechler alto bellite!

Thank you!

P.S. I think Beechler is a good MP as you can make the rock and mellow mood from one mouthpiece!! Indeed.. it is not a beginner MP!

P.P.S. even though, I am a poor student, I tried many brand.. I think the fastest way to find a gd setup for yourself is trial and error. Luckily, reeds is the cheapest thing in Saxophone setup..

I use a Yanagisawa metal #8 for praise and worship, but I find it not edgy enough. It does have plenty of volume though.

I'm waiting on some Runyons, a Rovner Deep V and an ARB to see which one I prefer.

oppai: thanks for sharing your input. can the Yanagisawa Metal of yours cuts through the sound of amplified guitars and keyboards?

can anybody share their input about these two MPs i'm interested with:
i am particularly interested with Beechler Bellite or the Diamond Inlay for Alto to be use for praise and worship music: how do these MPCs perform, can they bleed through the sound of amplified guitars and keyboards and at the same time can play soft ballads too.

hoping for your response, thanks

In terms of volume I can compete with them, but I simply get flooded by guitar distortion as I can't get enough edge with the Yanagisawa metal. When there's just acoustic guitar, piano, bass and percussion and we're doing quieter songs, the Yanagisawa metal usually suffices. Sometimes I use my old Meyer 6M for those occasions as well.

I believe Gerald Albright plays a Diamond Inlay on alto so it'd be worthwhile checking his sound out.

I've not played a Bellite before, but I'm sure there are others on this forum who have experience with it. I've heard it's bright, compact but with less edge than compared to a Dukoff. It can be played mellow if wanted.

i bought 3 1/2 V16s to use with it but i think 3 1/2 is a little too much.. i also wanna get some Java 3s and ZZ 3s. Ok, i'm also gettin rico plasticover 3s. gonna experiment with all of them and see which gives me the sound i want~
