HI EVERYONE
COULD SOMEONE PLEASE TELL ME DOES SELMER TS100 HAVE THE MODEL NUMBERS ON THEM? I HAVE BEEN SEEING SELMER USA ON EBAY AND THEY HAVE BEAUTIFUL FLORAL ENGRAVING ON THEM BUT NO MODEL NUMBERS ON THEM. i HAVE BEEN THINKING ON BUYING ONE BUT THE SELLERS NEVER KNOW WHAT MODEL IT IS. IF ANYONE COULD TELL ME THE SERIAL # IS 82xxxx I WOULD REALLY APPRECIATE IT.

I think serials started at 82XXXare Omegas. My selmer USA Omega tenor serial is 823XXX. It has the floral pattern. It says SELMER on the bell. No model no. is stenciled.

Selmer USA Omegas were made in the early 80's and were model no 164(tenor)and 162(alto) in the selmer catalog. In the late 80's they were called USA professionals and in the 90's I believe the name switched to TS100 for the tenor and AS110 for the Alto. My Alto is a USA Professional (825XXX) and my Tenor is a OMEGA (823xxx). Both are decent saxes. Keys are a bit noisier than OTHER SAXES IN OUR HOUSEHOLD(Yanagisawa,Selmer(Paris),Cannonball, and Keilwerth).

Thank you SYCC. So if I see a tenor sax with the serial # 825xxx it would be a usa professional not a TS100. Would you say a USA professional is an intermediate sax? Do you know if the TS100 has the model # written on it?

I forgot to ask does the usa professional have the floral engraving on it too?
thanks

The TS100 is the same sax, with just a few differences. No model designation on the sax. Fully engraved. Anything from the 82xxxx series is okay, but try before you buy.

Usa's are pro saxes w/ alot of the same features as the paris w/ eception of the spring loaded hinges and powerr hammered keys.Have not seen a TS 100 ecept in catalogs. They have floral pattern.
