My husband picked up a saxophone at a used-goods shop, but we cannot find any information about it on the web. Perhaps someone out there can help. It is an alto sax with "ARAMPONE Quarna-novara" written on the front and "Made in Italy" and the numbers 12429 stamped on the back. Does anyone have any idea??

Probably Rampone and Cazzani or a predecessor to it. These days, they are a quality maker based in Italy, I believe they made low quality instruments in the past. http://www.ramponecazzani.it/en/index.htm

this is a very old post but it is worth resuscitating for clarity in view of the many Alfonso Rampone saxophones which are being brought to the forum's attention.
A. Rampone refers to Alfonso Rampone, a company non-related (if not by family ties) to Rampone& Cazzani based in the same town of Quarna
