I just picked up a BARI hard rubber tenor mpc on ebay for cheap. It's coming from Hong Kong, so it will be a week or so before I receive it.
What's the chamber design of these mpcs? Round? Straight side-walls? How much baffle? Thanks!

I have a HR Bari 115 tenor piece I've tried on and off for about 7 years. I'll blow it tonight after work. I haven't played on it in while, so I need to refresh my memory on the sound and feel.

What I'm really interested in is the physical design characteristics of the chamber.

if they're the same as the soprano and alto ones, then they'll have a little roll over baffle and a round medium chamber. The alto one i played was a bit like a meyer, but the facing was a little shorter - nice strong sound, good projection.
danmcb played one last time we spoke (where u at dan - haven't seen u around here?). He liked it as a nice warm, traditional HR piece
the tenor has a very slight rollover baffle, looks almost as there was no baffle at all. it's made to match those older design mouthpieces.
chamber size is medium to big (depending on what somebody considers big)-- similar to a link in terms of size i would say. chamber is rather round.
recently i switched to a link (current production), as the bari had a tip opening too big for my comfort. but i learned a lot while playing on this mouthpiece.
sound is ok for me, but don't take my word for it. check it for yourself.
you may also talk to danmcb - he plays a bari .115 if i remember well and was quite happy with it last time we conversed.

Thanks - that's exactly what I wanted to know. I should be receiving the one I bought one ebay soon. It will be interesting to compare it to my new Hite Artist model. They're both supposedly the same tip (.095").

Not much to add to the good description above. I'd forgotten how good this mpc is. I'm glad I never sold it. Not quite the sound I wan right now, but my Bari 115 is a damn good piece.

Well, since such positive comments have been made, and since I have too many pcs already, I hereby note that I have 2 BARI tenor mpcs for sale: a hard rubber 100, and a metal 100 w/Olegature.
I'd sell all, including the Olegature, for $175 including Priority shipping in USA.
I'd have to look up the prices to quote individually, but make a fair offer (Olegature not avail separately, tho I will sell the mpc w/o the Olegature if desired). All really excellent condition.

I received my BARI rubber tenor mpc yesterday. I can now see why so few were willing to describe its chamber design. It's kind of a middle-of-the-road design, without any extreme features to grab your attention.
The chamber is rather on the medium-to-small side, imho. It's much smaller than a rubber Link, and smaller even than my Hite Artist model. There's no baffle to speak of, although the roof of the chamber is at a lower angle, relative to the axis of the bore, than a Link. The side-walls are straight, but the corners where they meet the roof have been rounded out by hand-filing. The throat area, where the chamber transitions to the bore, is round. Looking into the mpc from the bore end, it actually looks quite a bit like the throat of a Vandoren mpc.
Except for the metal ring around the shank, the exterior of the mpc is almost identical to the Babbitt-made mpcs that I own or have owned (Links, Meyers, Bambers). Makes me wonder if BARI gets their blanks from Babbitt.
I play-tested this mpc for just a few minutes last night, and thought the sound was kind of sterile, which is my normal reaction to mpcs with smallish chambers. It played "smaller" than my Hite Artist model.
I think the facing of this BARI could improved. With my finger, I noticed what felt like flat spots on the side rails. Maybe I'll send it to Mojo for a touch-up job. Then I'd have a real "Mojo-BARI".
