I know i shouldn't want a mouthpiece because of it's color, but i'm looking for a white mouthpiece - in particular a runyon quantum (tenor).

i found some brilharts on ebay, but thats rare, and usually the price is extremely high.

originally, i was goign to get a runyon custom. then a quantum. then a white quantum (because the finish of it is sandblasted/earthtone), and white would look nice with it (IMO).

having no luck finding a white quanutm, i want to be aware of other white tenor mouthpieces (preferably in the 6 or 7 range).

i know runyon's site has white quantum's, but most of their things on their own site are priced higher than other sites.

on a side note, does anyone know how amber/orange would look on a sandblasted sax?

Lamberson offer white mpcs... They are handmade and play extremely nice, too.

I've seen some non-name white mpcs turn up on ebay rather cheap, and some old King mpcs that were white as well. you could pick one of them up and have it customized.

When I was young these were quite popular. Made by Brilhart, Runyon and others.

Most of the "white" mouthpieces are actualy off white -- cream colored or beige.

As I understand it, a plastic mpc can be made any color from white to black, or any shade of translucency from clear to amber to red to blue (like some of the Runyons) simply by adding dyes to the plastic before it goes into the mold.

Most of the "white" mpcs for sale on ebay are cheapies which were supplied with the low priced student horns.

If you want to go this route, make sure you get a quality mpc.

You might contact Paul Coats who works with the folks at Runyon. He would know if they are still producing some of their models in a white or cream color.

hmm, all the white ones are expensive (well, more than i'd like to pay)

runyonproducts.com still has some (should have some) but i was looking for a south of 110$ price.

anyone know how amber/orange looks on a sandblasted/vintage looking sax?
