The UK's Elton Dean of Soft Machine fame died on Febuary 7th. he was only 60. Elton played fantastic alto and saxello with the Softs and his own bands. A true innovator.. cheers Elton.

I missed that sorry. My post was just an instinctive ,personal reaction. I met Elton once at the BBC Maida Vale studio and listened to some of his saxello improvisations . I liked them very much. cheers
What a shame. I dug his playing a lot as my tastes were migrating from rock to jazz. He was a terrific modal player.
