I have a 1949 Conn 10M with original Conn case, but the case seems to be a little unusual in that the accessory box with the snap lid is not rectangular. Instead, the wall closest to the bell lip of the stored sax is angled to be parallel to the lip. If you're not a Conn fanatic this may sound picky, but I'm curious why my case is different from all the others that I have seen with Conn 10Ms. Anyone out there have a Conn catalog from 1949 that may explain this?

Funny thing is i have a 49 10m and the box is angled with the bell lip. Never thought about this before

Guess you guys aren't old enough. If you are describing what I think you are, that compartment is to fit a clarinet case in. Doublers used to have compatible clarinet and sax cases; some still do but with the prevalence of formed cases these days you don't see them much.

I have a 49 also with original case, and it has the stamdard rectangular box. Maybe a previous owner had it modified?
