Hi all:

Two very important contrabass clarinets were stolen out of my apartment in Los Angeles between Sunday, January 15th and Thursday January 19th. They have a huge sentimental value as they were the instruments of a late colleague of mine. Any information would be appreciated. A $1000 per instrument reward is being offered for each clarinet.

• Selmer Rosewood, Eb Contrabass clarinet w/ case serial U181

• Leblanc Metal Bb Contrabass clarinet w/ case LOW C 2978

Hopefully the rarity of these instruments (especially the Selmer) will send up a red flag. Any help would be appreciated.

I can be reached at (323) 661-7775.

Also, please pass this on to all clarinet and musical colleagues.

Thanks,

Don Foster

I just found this thread with a search
Any news on these? I assume the Leblanc is a paperclip.

Call the Sam ash stores and others in the area and let them know so they can keep a eye out for them.

On eBay QuinnTheEskimo buys a lot of contrabasses (some would say all)
I wonder if he's seen them or is on the lookout for them?
