Does this exist? I found this on an art website:

man if that thing did exist then it would be totally unsafe. Your horn would just fall right off of the stand. If you are looking for a stand, then I recommend using the saxrax stands. THey are the best ones out today. You can order them from www.saxrax.com

C'mon, take that back, and tell me that I can buy one...cheap!
I'm moving into a new house that I'll have a room, just for music. I thought it'd be awesome to have one, even if you have to add a locking mechanism to the top hook, so it couldn't come off.
Thanks,
William
PS - If anyone happens to know how to get/make one, feel free to let me know!

For playing gigs, I went ahead and emailed Saxrax for a price quote on alto and bari stands, each with setlist stands, stage bags, and the banner to go between them, with our quartet's name on it. I hope it isn't too terribly expensive. Any ballpark ideas while I'm waiting on their reply?
Thanks,
William

*looking at the catalogue they sent me*
you didn't mention if you wanted high or low but the alto one would be roughty 119 -129.... the bari would be 189 (229 if adjustable).
hope that helps

There are wall mounts but they do NOT use the neck as part of the support system. They typically require a board be built and mounted on the wall...like in music stores on a small scale.

Actually, I did find he wall mounts for a slat wall, as you see in the music stores. I think I'm going to purchase one of those mounts, and modify the top plate, so I can just bolt it to the studs in the wall.
They're all over the place for an alto/tenor, but if I could just find another one for a bari...
Thanks for the input,
William

I bought two slat wall mount sax stands. One is the model in the picture, and the second is a larger one (originally designed for tenor). I'm having a metal shop fab me a longer mount for the bari, and I'll modify both stand's plates to bolt directly to the wall in my house.
I post pics of the finished product when I get done!

How about the fortissimo stand. It can be wall-mounted. See here http://www.ff-fortissimo.com/iprimera.html

I've always wondered about this stand. Has anyone actually used them? looking at the way that the sax rests (in the normal table top position) It seems like your saliva will be trickling back towards the bend at the neck but this time travelling through the side of the upper and lower stacks... which can't be too good for your pads. If anyone has insight on this.... let me know :)

I looked at the fortissimo stand, but I honestly just didb't like the angle the horn rests at. Aesthetically, I want to see the curve of the horn while looking directly at the wall. The sax is a beautiful thing!

Thanks!

There is a stand on here called the FF that can be mounted on a wall, it would be more safe.
