Anyone sell to eBay user 'ex-monk'?

He ended my SML alto auction with BuyItNow, and then insisted that it did not have the 'full' 22 features.

Funny how it coincides with a MK VI Soprano that has his affections...

Hijinkx like this cast a pall over auctions.

It's a way to tie up an item, without laying out the green.
Too bad he'll never get a crack at the Saxello I have coming up next!

Anybody got one of those internet flamethrowers to sell?

His bid is a contract - - negative feedback and a credit request to eBay - - two more and he's terminated - - the usual drill.

As to your ad copy:
AFAIK "Rev D Gold Medal" is an oxymoron.
Gold Medal would be a NEWER not an older model.

His excuse for not buying is a sham.

In addition to morgan's comments, the "22 Features" are found only on the early Gold Medal horns, not on the Rev. D. Please see http://www.saxpics.com/sml/smlcompare.htm and http://www.saxpics.com/sml/goldmedal.htm

Now, you could make an argument that your horn is sonically identical to the Gold Medal ...

Venturing an opinion, ex-monk has a beef because the ad is incorrect. You have a beef because he could have easily checked it out (and no, he didn't contact me). In other words, I doubt if too many people get eBay involved when they find out their Conn advertised as "made in 1914!" was really made in 1939.

He bailed because a Conn Connquerer has his affections.

My beef is that he ended the auction and THEN found reasons to decline.

A brief telephone call (5 minutes I'll never get back) revealed pretty much what I expected... at least I can block his 'ex-monk' ID from further auctions.

It's only a contract if it's enforceable.

Just don't forget to request your final value fee credit from eBay, which not only refunds your money but also makes a formal record of his behavior.

I just grind my teeth for 10 days until that is allowed by eBay rule.
