Looking at the Woodwind and Brass Wind website, I see them advertising the A992 and something they call the A992 new B stock. The regular one is priced at $2,892.31 and the B stock model is priced at $2,749.00.
Does anyone know what the difference is? Why the price difference?

At wwbw.com, B-stock means a horn that arrived damaged in some minor way, or has a factory flaw. Usually a ding or scratch. In theory anything beyond cosmetics doesn't qualify for B-stock.
Fire them off an email and ask what's the flaw n that particular horn, and see what they say. If it's something inconsequential, saving a few bucks on a B-stock horn seems like a reasonable option.

I think their site says somewhere that they can't give specifics about the damage to particular horns. However, their generous return policy applies to the B stock horns.

Thanks all. I can't seem to find any reference on their site one way or the other but it makes sense.
Thanks,

Or ask for a paper catalog--usually includes current B-stock WITH a few words about the reason they're B.

Although not horn specific, here's their definition of B stock.
"New B Stock
Noticeable scratches, dents and/ or nicks. Typically a customer return or refurbished product. GUARANTEED TO PLAY PERFECTLY. Includes FULL MANUFACTURER WARRANTY and Woodwind and Brasswind's 45 day 100% satisfaction guarantee. Our loss is your opportunity to SAVE MONEY! "

Here's the email they sent me when I asked them about it:
Dear Customer,
Concerning "New B Stock" items. Often times these are items that have been unpackaged and on display. An instrument that is not untouched/brand new. We do, however guarantee normal playability. Often times there is no evident difference between the two. However, on occasion you will find minor scratches and things of this sort.
If you have any other questions concerning this instrument please feel free to contact us.
Thank You,
Customer Service
John
