Hello players!
First time that I have tried to use this new site setup so really don't know what I'm doing but anyway just want to say hello to all of you and to say thanks for your patronage. I am adding some articles on my www.gigdust.com site that you may find interesting as well as informative. There will be several of these articles to come in the near future.
The first article deals with PROPER EMBOUCHURE PRESSURE or bite pressure. In this article is an exercise to tell you whether or not that you have the correct reed/mouthpiece combination and this is information for sax and the clarinets. All of us are always looking for a BETTER SOUND and response in ALL registers FROM OUR INSTRUMENT and this article may tell you a way to achieve this.
The information included there contains much from the "old master " himself, Santy Runyon. His innovative ideas of many years ago are not known by that many players and he has allowed me to introduce you to some of them.
Give it a look-see and see if it won't help you to establish criteria for proper reed strength, mouthpiece style and tip openings for a more consistent sound from your instrument with MUCH LESS EFFORT than you may be using now. You will be glad that you looked!
